Iain Duncan's Bossa West - Latin Jazz Quartet

Bossa West revisits the relaxed, lyrical, and grooving Bossa Nova sound of sixties Brazil, as popularized by Stan Getz, Antonio Carlos Jobim, and Joao Gilberto. Saxophonist and band leader Iain Duncan has been bringing back the Bossa Nova at Victoria's best music venues since arriving on the island in 2014. The band has appeared at the Victoria Jazz Festival, Hermann's Jazz Club, & The Northern Quarter Restaurant, The Oswego Hotel, as well as others.

The Iain Duncan Trio - Sax, Piano, & Bass

The Iain Duncan Trio performs mellow but swinging cool jazz and bossa novas, with a sound reminiscent of the 50's cool-school of Stan Getz, Gerry Mulligan, and Chet Baker. Perfect at lounges, restaurants, and special events, the trio provides accessible, enjoyable music that plays well both in the background or on centre stage. The Iain Duncan Trio has been a regular act at the Oswego Hotel in Victoria since 2015. They look sharp, they sound great, and they know how to fit in a room.

Duncan & Genge - Sax and Organ Quartet

Iain Duncan is joined by organist Tony Genge in this dynamic and exciting quartet. Covering blues, funk, and soul-jazz, this swinging band grooves hard, bringing back the warm and funky sound of the sixties B3 organ bands. Iain and Tony are backed by drums and guitar, and optionally additional horns and vocals.

Duncan & Genge have performed together at the Chemainus Jazz Festival, the Crofton Hotel jazz series, and are featured regularly at the Jazz at the O-Bistro nights in the Oswego Hotel.
